Programme Description

This video series provides an overview of key issues in asthma management, and highlights the latest recommendations from the BTS/SIGN guidelines that are key for effective asthma care.

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, healthcare professionals should be able to:
  • Confidently discuss the pathophysiological features of asthma, including the UK prevalence, classic symptoms, and aetiological risk factors.
  • Educate patients about the mechanisms behind the effects of inhaled corticosteroids treatments.
  • Outline BTS/SIGN recommendations for the diagnosis, assessment and management of asthma.
  • Advise patients on self-management of their condition.
