Programme Description

This activity is designed to test your knowledge of recent clinical guidance, as covered by MIMS Learning Essentials.

Learning points for healthcare professionals are on low back pain and sciatica, mental health problems in people with learning disabilities, HIV, irritable bowel syndrome, asthma and other topics.

Educational Objectives

After taking this module, GPs and nurses will be able to identify any gaps in their knowledge of current guidance produced by NICE and other organisations (BASHH, BHIVA, BTS/SIGN, FSRH, GMC, RCOG) relating to the following topics:
  • low back pain and sciatica
  • mental health problems in people with learning disabilities
  • HIV
  • irritable bowel syndrome
  • asthma
  • sepsis
  • ovarian cysts in postmenopausal women
  • depression in adults
  • contraceptive use (UKMEC) and
  • cirrhosis.
