The Gut Feelings multi-disciplinary expert panel have been brought together by Nutricia Early Life Nutrition to help raise awareness of the optimal management of infant functional gastrointestinal (GI) disorders reflux, colic and constipation, and the significant impact these conditions have on the healthcare system and families.

To help to embed this message into practice, the panel have worked together to create the educational resource Managing functional GI disorders in infancy: integrating clinical recommendations with effective communication skills, which combines best practice and parental support in the management of infant feeding problems.

As well as refreshing healthcare professionals' knowledge of the guidelines for reflux, colic and constipation, this resource explains how to use motivational interviewing techniques such as reflective listening to more effectively reassure parents and offer advice on how to manage these conditions with evidence-based approaches.
