Guidance: NICE guidance NG42. Motor neurone disease: assessment and management. February 2016.

Dr Mark Rickenbach describes how to implement the latest NICE guidance on motor neurone disease in primary care. The module outlines what’s new in the guidance, what to do differently in practice, which symptoms might indicate motor neurone disease and which treatment options are recommended for managing the different symptoms of motor neurone disease.

  • Plan review or contact at frequent intervals with patients and their carers
  • Monitor patients for respiratory symptoms
