Programme Description

Dr Jessica Garner describes how to implement the first comprehensive guidance on nut allergy including peanut allergy and tree nut allergy. This module outlines what’s new in the guidance, what to do differently in your practice, areas of uncertainty and considerations relating to multimorbidity.

Educational Objectives

After taking this module, GPs and nurses will be better able to:
  • Recall the recommendations relevant to primary care in the BSACI guideline
  • Know how nut allergy is diagnosed and which other conditions it is linked to
  • Advise parents on nut avoidance
  • Prescribe adrenaline auto-injectors appropriately
  • Be aware of areas of uncertainty and upcoming treatments
