Programme Description

Dr Sarah Gray discusses options for contraception in women around the age of the menopause. Using patient cases as the basis for discussion the risks and benefits of various types of contraception are explored.

This module, based on a presentation at MIMS Clinical Update 2015, brings you expert opinion and key learning points in an audiovisual format. You can play the presentation at a time to suit you, pause and continue as needed. A CPD certificate is awarded for completing this module.

After taking this activity the healthcare professional should be better able to:
  • Understand the risk of becoming pregnant in women over the age of 40
  • Know when contraception is indicated
  • Know what types of contraception are available to women around the menopause
  • Discuss the options with women to allow them to make an informed choice
